Lessons Learned

The most interesting part about the interview was the fact that I was sailing in new territory. I mean I didn't even know how to operate the tripod! It was frustrating but after a while I got used to it and started to enjoy it. Now I know that I am walking away with more knowledge packed into my head. Another thing that struck me as interesting was the technology we are using. We are using the best Canon cameras right now and I felt so exhilarated when I held the camera for the first time.

The biggest challenge was that I was in new territory and I knew nothing about interviewing or working this new and expensive equipment. There was also the need to study new words like critique, b-roll and composition techniques to name a few of them. There was also the frustration factor. I mean, first we would shoot some footage and realize that we needed more, so we would work on the same thing again. Of course the nervousness of not finishing this project in time always fills my mind. So this project, though this interview thing may seem easy is actually really hard and a bit exhausting.

I'd say that the most valuable thing that has been given to me is the fact that if I wanted to I could become a reporter if I grow up. I mean I could say I could have a little experience and I could end up being a reporter or something. This has also helped me handle technology more carefully since our teacher has been so careful to tell us to treat the cameras with the utmost care. So I have learned a lot from this experience. So I love this project.

  1. The amount of details in your sentences is amazing. Also using the vocab words correctly was excellent. How do you do this so well :D. Nice Job!
